Meet Miryam!

Miryam is a junior in the History department with a concentration in Latin American studies. You might be thinking, Latin American studies, then why is she in South Africa? Having been born in Bogota, Colombia, and grown up in Miami, she has spent a lot of time throughout Latin America and wanted to explore a new place and culture. What better place than the beautiful University of Cape Town? Miryam looks forward to learning about a new culture, studying South African history through her independent work, experiencing student life at another university, and getting to know other South African and international students while there. She's also really excited for the many adventures in South Africa: shark cage diving, surfing, hiking...who knows what awaits!
